• — you are at least 16 years old
• — you are at least 18 if you switch on the AI portrait. that is the only part of follow that sends a photograph of you anywhere; everything else works without it
• — you're responsible for your own safety in the real world. the game encourages you to walk outside. do not walk into traffic, off a cliff, onto private property, or anywhere else you shouldn't be
• — you won't attempt to hack, scrape, or abuse the service (rate-limit bypass, fake events, API spam)
• — the content you can type into the app (operative name, email) is not offensive, harassing, or illegal

• — the app is free to use. some cosmetic supporter-tier extras cost a small one-time fee (“the veil”). free players get the complete game
• — we don't sell your data. see the privacy policy for the full list of what we collect
• — you can delete everything we have on you at any time from profile → field settings → delete all data
• — refunds for the veil are handled by Stripe, our payment processor and merchant of record

• — the app is provided “as is.” GPS is not always accurate, sensors are not always available, the internet sometimes goes down, LLMs sometimes fail — we do our best to degrade gracefully
• — we can't guarantee your journal entries will persist forever. if the underlying database provider disappears, we have no way to rescue them
• — nothing in the app constitutes genuine supernatural evidence. no real entities were harmed, summoned, or placated in the making of this software

“The veil” is a one-time unlock, not a subscription. 15 of the 60 entities walk for everyone, and the fetch will wear your face once. The veil opens the other 45 and lets them keep wearing it. The personalised photo feature is 18+.

How you paid decides who to ask about money. If you bought the veil inside the Android app, Google Play took the payment and is the merchant of record: refunds and chargebacks go through Google Play's own process, under their refund policy. If you bought it on the web, Stripe took the payment and is the merchant of record, and refunds and chargebacks go through their dispute process. Either way we never see your card details.

Follow is a game. We are not liable for any real-world harm, loss, or damage arising from using it — including but not limited to: walking into things, draining your phone battery, getting rained on, or being genuinely frightened. Use common sense. Look up from the screen sometimes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to what you've paid us (typically €0 or the price of the veil unlock).

You can stop using the app at any time and delete your data from the profile page. We can suspend or terminate access if you break these terms (e.g. trying to exploit the API). We won't terminate a session for any other reason without notice.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute is first addressed directly — email hello@dreadworks.io — before escalating to courts. Bugs, refunds and support reach the same address.

If we materially change these terms, we update this page, bump the date above, and surface a toast on the landing screen. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
